Presented by Lisa M. Diamond, Ph.D., Professor of Developmental and Health Psychology, University of Utah. Author of Sexual Fluidity, Understanding Women's Love and Desire.
For decades, supporters of LGBT rights have emphasized that LGBT individuals are 'born that way," as an argument against discrimination. Although intuitively appealing, this argument has three major problems: First, it's not scientifically accurate; second it's not legally necessary; and third, it's actually unjust , and in this talk I will show you why it's time to finally retire the "born that way" argument to LGBT equality.
Networking will take place from 8:30-9:00, followed by Dr. Diamond's talk. Light refreshments will be served.
